How does guesting work in guild wars 2
And guesting has no influence on that. Guesting is a relic from the time before Megaservers were implemented. It no longer serves a purpose. It's also used as one of considerations when selecting a map instance, but it's neither the only nor the main one and, obviously, has no meaning if there's only one instance available. As explained by others, guesting was a thing when there where seperate worlds for open world PvE.
Nowadays the game uses mega servers with so called shards. So a world and the one you choose is of no real consequences. Guesting means you guest to another homeworld, but as your homeworld is of no real consequence, guesting is even less.
Homeworlds do two things nowadays. The homeworld decides what world you fight for. Guesting doesn't change this. When there are multiple versions of the map, the game attempts to put you in the same map alongside your friends, guildmates, and members of the same world; in the EU region, priority is also given to those using the same supported language, i.
English, French, German, or Spanish. So the world makes a lil bit of sense to what map you are placed on, guesting changes this. But as it doesnt garantuee to come on a more desired copy, it has almost no function. As other people have said it doesn't really mean anything any more. Your server choice only matters in World vs. World, for everything else all servers in a region share maps and everyone can play together, so there's no need to guest to another server to meet up with a friend.
Oh, and all your characters are always on the same server. Players wishing to participate in World-versus-World in a non-home world must perform a full world transfer.
Kerstein advises players to select their intended home world before guesting goes live on Jan. Players can guest on two different worlds at a time, and once a world has been guested on players can visit it for the next 24 hours as many times as they want. Guesting onto full or highly-populated worlds will also increase the probability of a player being put in an overflow map. To guest, players must visit the character select screen and choose the "World Selection" option at the bottom of the screen, then choose the world they wish to play in and select "Guest.
The addition of guesting also brings with it the removal of free world transfers. The fee will be dependent on the population of the world players are seeking transfer to. Race is a basically cosmetic choice, it influences what racial skills you get, but chances are you won't use racial skills as the class skills are better. So instead ask yourself, do you want to start in a snowy area or a pastoral area? Do you want to be normal sized or big? Which voice actor do you like better, seeing as you're going to be spending a lot of time listening to your character's voice?
Go Norn. User Info: DuDuDu Your camera will murder you If I can racial change I would just for content completion User Info: Cemmos. Jumping puzzles are completely viable with norn and while the camera does wonk a bit more than other races, I wouldn't hold off on a race simply because of it. JP's are fairly easy with norn unless you generally find jumping puzzles hard in the first place.
In that case, yeah, maybe go with another race. More topics from this board Is it worth getting into this game? What do you do with old soulbound equipment? Side Quest 2 Answers How do you map the camera on the right analog stick gamepad on Xpadder?
