How long is the dobson trail

The trail winds through soft and hardwood stands, crosses a beaver dam, touches a lake and ascends slopes to reach magnificent lookouts including Prosser Brook Ridge, the new Kent Hills power generating windmills, and the spectacular Hayward Pinnacle.

Camping is permitted along the entire length of the trail. Will be back, hopefully in dryer weather. Compares to a lot of local wood hiking. Met a lot of dogs off-leash. No issues as most seem very well behaved and did not seem to care we were there hiked with my dog also Rain must have woken up the mosquitoes!

Applied bug spray at one of our breaks and was fine after that! There is a reddish brown type of sand in this area. The trail is straight ahead, do not turn. A pole is marked with signs, but it is so over grown you cannot see it from far away the first bit of this hike was outstanding. Use Navigator in the AllTrails app and join the other outdoor explorers who have completed this trail.

Trail marking: Very good Trail maintenance: Fair What I liked: Good scenery, fairly good walking, lots of springs on the way.

What I disliked: Road crossings and signs of humans. Additional comments: It seems as though I've been corrected. There's a couple peaks that are higher. Sorry about mentioning that. I have a book that is also incorrect. It's nice anyway. We do the trail every spring without fail, even if there's snow. I know there's a couple other people that do it at the same time, because they sign the book at the Moose Hut. We're leaving a bit earlier this year, and hope to meet other hikers In April, there's usually not a lot of signs of people on the trail.

Maybe this year will be different since it's a nice warm Spring, and the snow seems to be rapidly melting. Around Blackwood Lake is usually the worst spot for snow if there's any. Moncton N. B 17 years ago. I have hiked there: Several times Trails that I hiked: All of it. My favourite sections: The look off Best time of year to go: late summer Trail marking: Fair Trail maintenance: Fair What I liked: Nice scenery, good pace great views What I disliked: The hills but meh you survive Additional comments: better markers.

B 18 years ago. I have hiked there: A few times Trails that I hiked: My favourite sections: around hayward pinnacle and the last section arriving to fundy Best time of year to go: spingtime because the springs are noy dry and its not to hot Trail marking: Very good Trail maintenance: Fair What I liked: very fun hike, lots of nice scenery and its a pretty good length What I disliked: very hot in mid summer and springs are dry so its sometimes hard to find water Additional comments: start from riverview and go towards fundy so after you have hiked the dobson trail you can also hike in fundy.

The dobson trail ends on a dirt road so be prepared to walk a bit more to get to alma because you have to cross fundy or make sure you tell someone to pick you up at the end. Fredericton, NB 18 years ago. Best time of year to go: Springtime for sure.

If you plan on experiencing the trail, you have to hike it in it's entirety. Hayward's Pinacle highest peak in N. B is beautiful, among other scenery. The trail is well marked by blue paint and markers, and you basically cannot get lost. Prosser Ridge Lookout is worth the three day hike in itself. The trail passes through some pretty dense softwood sections, and some very impressive hardwood lots too. The marshes are beautiful as well!

This is definately the best scenery of deep woods N. What I disliked: Well, some things that I disliked about the trail are the signs of civilization.

Some parts of the trail even cross asphalt roads, which take from the overall wilderness experience. Also, there are some pretty wet sections of the trail even in mid summer! There seems to be more and more logging roads and such crossing the trail every year, but hey, what do you expect.

Oh yeah, the blackflies are as thick as fog in the swampy sections in the summer mosquitos as well. Additional comments: Do it in the Spring for sure.
